Coventry City have added the Championship title to their promotion to the Premier League . The Sky Blues sealed their return to the top flight last week with a 1-1 draw against Blackburn.
And their 5-1 win against Portsmouth at the CBS Arena on Tuesday evening has seen them rubber-stamp the trophy with two games remaining.
The title rounds off a stunning season for the Midlands side, with Frank Lampard ’s men having led the way in the Championship for the majority of the campaign. Coventry take on Wrexham and Watford in their final two games of the campaign and could end the campaign on 95 points.
That haul has seen boss Lampard crowned as the EFL Championship Manager of the Season. Speaking at Sunday’s awards ceremony, the Chelsea icon said: "I was emotional the other night [securing promotion at Blackburn] because it dawned on me in that moment what we had achieved.
