Jurgen Klopp is reportedly urging Liverpool to sign RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande as a successor to Mohamed Salah this summer. The Egyptian has struggled to find his form this season under Arne Slot , with just five goals and six assists to his name from 22 Premier League appearances.
Despite only signing a contract extension last year that should keep him at Anfield until 2027, Salah recently announced his intentions to part ways with his club of nine years at the end of the season. As a result, it looks like a busy summer in the north west, as the Reds look to secure a suitable replacement for the 33-year-old.
Now, former Liverpool manager turned RB Leipzig global head of soccer, Klopp , is claimed to be urging his former club to snap up Diomande. The 19-year-old is valued at £87million, but Liverpool could face stiff competition in securing his services, reports the Sun .
That's because Arsenal , Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the forward. With 10 goals and seven assists to his name in the Bundesliga alone this term, the Ivorian has certainly impressed.
Under contract until 2030, however, Leipzig are in no rush to sell the youngster, and could in turn ask above market value to let him leave the Red Bull Arena in the coming months.
Klopp, meanwhile, recently explained how Liverpool have a somewhat impossible task in replacing Salah, who has managed 255 goals for the club since his arrival in 2017. The German said: "This specific kind of player is irreplaceable. That’s always how it is.
“There will be a void that somebody will fill. It’s always in our minds how much time, how much space – yeah, how much time do we give to whoever is going to play there in whatever system the manager will play?
“But the specific player, Mo Salah ? I’m not sure there is even another one existing out there. There are other people playing on that wing with different strengths, different qualities, but it is the numbers he produces – they are unmatched from that position."

It comes as Diomande is not the only star who has been tipped with replacing Salah this summer, with West Ham's Jarrod Bowen and Bayern Munich's Michael Olise also seeing their names churned through the rumour mill. As for Salah, meanwhile, his next club also remains in speculation.
The forward has seen a wealth of interest from the Saudi Pro League as of recent, despite remaining loyal to Liverpool up until now. Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadsiah are among the clubs who have been linked with Salah lately.
However, there has also been a reported interest in the MLS , with clubs like Inter Miami and LA Galaxy also mentioned as potential landing spots. There is always the chance that the club legend could remain in Europe too, with the likes of Roma , Barcelona , PSG , Galatasaray and Fenerbahce linked with Salah.
