Liam Gallagher couldn't help but poke fun at rivals as they suffered yet another setback. The avid Manchester City fan was certainly enjoying his side's title rivals' latest defeat.

Arsenal fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday. The result allowed a glimmer of hope for the Citizens to catch them in the title race for this season's Premier League .

And it's that hope that let the Oasis legend throw out a cheeky jibe towards the Londoners. On X (formerly Twitter), Liam shared a skit of a toddler running away in tears. Over the child was an image of Arsenal's badge, while the City badge was chasing.

"YES, LIAM, YES!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA," gushed one fan. Another added: "liam screen recording memes is the last thing i expected to see on a saturday LOOK AT HIM GO just full of surprises."

However, not everyone was as impressed. Another user slammed: "You'd expect this from a random 14 year old british boy not from the 53 year old oasis frontman."

The result leaves City nine points away from Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, but with two games in hand. Many fans have been wondering if the Gunners will be able to sustain their push for the title after recent cup exits in the FA Cup and City's victory in the Carabao Cup final. And the latest result will certainly ramp up the pressure on Arteta's men.

Liam regularly shares on social media, much to the delight of his followers. While he often interacts with followers in his unique way, he was forced to apologise to fans just days before Oasis' big reunion last summer.

Just days before the huge reunion, Liam was accused of posting a 'racial slur' on his X account. He posted the phrase 'chingchong', which is understood as an offensive or derogatory phrase that’s used to mock or denigrate East Asian languages.

A number of his followers warned him at the time what the phrase meant. He swiftly deleted the post and quickly issued an apology after fans told him he "can't say that".

He posted: "Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn’t intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. peace and love LG. "

Last month, it was revealed that a new Opus Oasis book, photographed by the man behind their reunion snap, was to be released as a huge momento for the band's reunion tour. The new book, which is dedicated to the Oasis Live 25 tour, offers unseen behind-the-scenes photos from the incredible gigs.

Photographer Simon Emmett took the original black and white photo of Liam and Noel Gallagher stood back together to mark the official announcement of the reunion on August 27 2024. The snap sparked pandemonium around the world .

The professional snapper was then given access to to follow Oasis on tour. And he has made an make an official souvenir book with publishers Opus for fans. Of his work, Simon said: "When I saw the reaction to the photo, it was obvious to me that this wasn’t a single event.

"The photograph was the beginning of something. I felt strongly that this needed to be documented. There was no facade, this was genuine. We watched the crowd having the time of their lives, but the band and the crew are also having equally as good a time."
