Madness for Vozinha: World Cup icon lands in Chile to raucous crowd at airport
Colo-Colo fans are pumped for their new goalkeeper, the man who made a major name for himself with Cape Verde at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

It wasn't straightforward by any means, but Vozinha has a new club team. Following an epic 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign as Cape Verde's goalkeeper, which led to him being a social media sensation, Vozinha has capitalized with a big move to Colo-Colo.
Vozinha is yet to sign the official contract, but on Sunday, the 40-year-old landed in Santiago, Chile to put pen to paper. He had spent the past two seasons with G.D. Chaves in the second division of Portugal's soccer pyramid. Now, he will make more money and has the chance to become a legend for one of the most famous clubs in South America.
Colo-Colo fans swarm airport for Vozinha's arrival to Chile
Vozinha has generated an insane amount of fanfare since his run with Cape Verde at the World Cup. If there were any doubts left about the type of hype Vozinha can generate, video footage of him arriving at the airport in Chile show he's already a star there.
Colo-Colo fans came out in droves to welcome him, as he was flanked by media members and security members.
According to Rodrigo Gomez Flores, Vozinha will undergo medical tests on Monday. If all goes as planned, he should sign the contract not long after.
